Hopi Bowl

17" diameter, 7" high.  The bottom is made from segmented goncola alves.  The top is fiddleback maple, inlaid with tulipwood, holly, bayo, zircote, satinwood, lacewood, ebony, dyed veneer and pewter.  This piece took First Place, Segmented Woodturning in the 2000 Southern California Exposition/ Del Mar Fair Design in Wood competition.  In the 2001 Orange County State Fair, this piece took First Place, Segmented Woodturning, Best of Woodturning Division and Best of Show.  This piece was  published in the Spring 2000 issue of American Woodturner and the April 2000 issue of Woodwork magazine.
